The post beneath is about the really last lecture Randy Pausch gave at Carnegie Mellon University. He had three months left of what doctors call "quality life", before his pancreatic cancer took him off. This is the same cancer that killed Bernardo six months ago and I know what it does to the mind and body of the sick and the mind and body of those who love the sick ones.
The video of his last lecture has been watched by millions of people, his book has sold thousands of copies...but, most of all, his words are inspiring and moving. Do not expect any tear-grief-handkerchief stuff. Do expect to smile and, most of the times, do expect to laugth.
And that is the best lesson or lecture this computer engeneer, who believed in virtual reality gave to us: you can died while smiling. You can say goodbye. We can let them go on and die. Because letting somebody go and die is the most difficult lesson to learn and probably the most difficult lecture to give.
